Learning to swim without getting hair wet - is it possible?

I have thick hair up to halfway down my shoulders. I'd rather not get it wet every time I went for a swim - is there a swimming cap/hat/wrap you'd recommend for this which you've tried and it has kept your hair dry?

Thank you

Putting your hair into a high bun and using a normal swim cap tucked over the tops of your ears will keep most of your hair dry, the back of your head and some around the swim cap might get wet but most of it will be dry.

Silicon swim hats used to be better than other ones.

Interesting to hear swim caps actually work. I'm swimming 5 times a week and it's really messing with my hair.
