So excited I'm going to Ikea after ages tonight 😆

Need a billy bookcase for the playroom and maybe a tv cabinet.

What can't I miss because I hardly get to go think having to bribe dh Grin---- so really do not want to come back and think ah crap why didn't I get this !

I'm thinking so far:

Bookshelf
Tv unit
A plant for an empty corner
Candles (obviously)
Microwave splatter guard thing

Ideas needed to waste my life savings in Ikea please thanks Grin

Bag of Daims
Food bags
Kitchen utensils
Meatballs

chuffnstuff · 19/07/2019 14:50

A hot dog and cinnamon buns Grin

Their own Ryvita's are good too!

Nearlyfriyay987654321 · 19/07/2019 14:51

Meatballs from the hot counter at the end 😍

BarbaraofSeville · 19/07/2019 14:59

Watching with interest as I'm also going tonight to buy a dish draining rack and to continue the quest to buy binbags that fit my kitchen bin.

Apologies for the stealth boast about my rock and roll Friday night lifestyle.

I have a 2 part in cupboard kitchen bin from ikea and last time I looked, Ikea nor any other supermarket or household shop sells the correct sized binbags, apart from one lot I got from Home Bargains a while ago and needless to say when I went back to buy more, they had been a one off special, never to be seen again.

gerbo · 19/07/2019 15:02

Their Tupperware is great.

51Pegasusb · 19/07/2019 15:08

Daim icecream !

Pootles34 · 19/07/2019 15:17

Have you checked they have whatever you want in stock? Nothing worse than getting there to find none left.

SDTGisAnEvilWolefGenius · 19/07/2019 15:28

Green cakes.

The frozen cinnamon buns you can cook at home.

The ground coffee.

Roussillon849 · 19/07/2019 15:31

Ice cream scoop (metal, rubber handle, heavy and good quality).
Chocolate bars.
Battery operated mini milk frother.
Small orange bin bags (good for pet poos).
Fancy patterned paper napkin.
Random cheap as chips glassware (for a while it was the flamingo glasses, but the last time I went they had really cool diamond-patterned ones)..
The flavoured oils! Thyme and/or wild garlic. So nice.
Set of zipped pouches in different sizes for travel.
Make sure you visit the sale area by the warehouse so you can buy another food bowl to add to your random collection.
USB charger cables - we swear by them in our house.

Roussillon849 · 19/07/2019 15:35

Washing brush with a thin long handle - perfect for water bottles.
This alarm clock. SO cool:

Hailthelime · 19/07/2019 15:37

Bag clips, mini daim

TattiePants · 19/07/2019 15:54

A selection of storage boxes. My utility room is a thing of beauty now it’s perfectly organised with a box for everything! Yes, I’m easily pleased!

MsKhan · 19/07/2019 15:56

Oooh wow loads of great ideas, the frozen cook at home cinnamon buns sound amazing !

@Pootles34 gosh I didn't even think to check stock availability, good call thanks!

Which one are you going to? There was a lovely tv cabinet at MK today in the bargain corner

homemadegin · 19/07/2019 15:58

Box cheese grater. Grate straight into the Tupperware, pop lid on.

NotPennysBoat · 19/07/2019 16:02

Kilner jars for everything - cereals, washing powder, dishwasher tabs.
Ribba picture frames
Candles
Lamps for everywhere

BonnesVacances · 19/07/2019 16:03

Ikea have some lovely little succulents in light grey china pots for a bargainous £3.

I've also recently availed of the Skadis pegboard range which I've always just walked past before. The combinations are endless and I'm loving it on the wall about my wannabe craft desk.

Whereismyfigleaf · 19/07/2019 16:05

Koncis garlic squeezer
Everyday water glasses
Glass measuring jug
Scissors
Pillows
Potatoes masher

Have a nice trip 😀

DontCallMeShitley · 19/07/2019 16:08

A socktopus or 4
Apple segmenting thingy
Lots of mugs
A blue Kimono

Don't bother with the Daims, they have palm oil in them.

Hotdog and fries on the way out or dinner in the restaurant, especially the puddings

RandomUsernameHere · 19/07/2019 16:09

Another vote for a socktopus!

BumbleBeeWineGlass · 19/07/2019 16:10

If you're anything like us you'll go in for your £100 planned bits and come out £400 lighter and a vehicles car boot full of gubbins! 😅

TooMinty · 19/07/2019 16:12

Can you get me a hammock stand, meatballs and daim cake while you are there please? Ta!

MitziK · 19/07/2019 16:13

Their towels, flannels and bathsheets. The ones that aren't fluffy, but appear textured instead - I think they're called Frajen.

Honestly, they are so cheap but practically indestructible - and they still look brand new after 8 years.

Avoid the 'special IKEA family' offers as they're generally just crap.

The 365+ pans are brilliant. As are the glass kilners.

Tea towels. Cheap and come up great on a hot wash.

A lot of the candles are extremely stinky at the moment, but if you like that kind of thing, get the holders at the same time.

DontCallMeShitley · 19/07/2019 16:17

Socktopus is called Pressa, last time I went they were all the same colour.

Kimono is called Tankvard only in blue

Apple slicer is called Spritta (light green)

I used to like the Frajen towels too, they are quite thin, they seemed to not have many last time I was there so wondered if they have decided to discontinue them.

I also have Flodalen towels, they have lines on. Not seen many of those either.
