DEVON OR CORNWALL - Are there any Music Festivals on?

We are down around 9th for 10 days just fancied a music festival or something different to do in the day or evening?

I live in Devon so just had a quick look at music events near me for that time, Paignton Regatta starts on the 10th August and I think that goes on for a week. I've only been once a few years ago though so I can't quite remember but have a google. Shame you'll just be missing out on the Sidmouth folk festival that ends on the 9th! It's a bit event in Sidmouth with music and market stalls all over the town.

I live in Exmouth and when we have nothing better to do we go down to the Queens drive space by the seafront which is an outdoor area with bars, food outlets, play park etc and usually has live music on especially during the summer on Fridays and the weekend afternoons. They also have open air cinema screen so give them a google.

Boardmasters will be on in Newquay from the 7th-11th. It’s a surf event but they have a fantastic music line-up including Florence & The Machine and Foals, plus hundreds of much smaller acts.

Oh how could I forget boardmasters in watergate bay, newquay! We go most years but can't this year as I'm due end of August. It's brilliant but tickets may have sold out for the music festival but you may be able to still buy online, but like pp said there's a surfing competition on that weekend that's part of boardmasters and you don't have to pay for that. They normally have small live music areas there too. That's at Fistral beach.

Sidmouth Folk Festival is early August - have a Google for dates etc as you may catch the tail-end.

Devon and Cornwall is a pretty big area. If you're in Penzance, you won't be popping up to Sidmouth for an evening

If you can manage an afternoon/evening out on the 9th, it’s the last day of the Sidmouth festival which is always fun. Celidh dancing, street performers, lots of beer and a big parade, all by the sea.

Thanks we arrive on 9th so will be a long drive but will look at other suggestions

The Levellers Beautiful Days festival starts on the 15th.

It’s Falmouth Week from the 9th. All manner of stuff going on around the town. Music, food, art, sailing, etc. Take a look!
