Moving back to the UK from Spain - cheapest way to ship a few belongings?

Hi, my son is moving back to Scotland from Spain. He has around 6 boxes, a desk and chair, computer and 2 bags of clothes. Removal company quotes were really expensive so he is looking at leaving his desk and chair behind and just using a courier service for the rest but that is also working out quite expensive.

Anyone know of another way of doing this that won't break the bank for him?

I second using sendmybags. I used them when moving back from Spain and they were great.

DHL international services were cheaper than shipmybag. Around £12 for a medium locked suitcase from UK to Italy in 4 days. No liquids though.

Has he been through all his stuff and made sure it’s cost effective to bring it back? I would be quite ruthless and donate the stuff he can replace cheaply when he gets back.

I’ve also used them from Italy to the UK for other services and they were fast and efficient with clear tracking. They seem to have monopolized the market.
