Which fizz do I buy for under a tenner?

Just thought really. Need something that tastes okay but costs no more than £10.

It’s for a gift - I don’t drink the stuff, so cannot work it it at all!

Aldi have champagne for £10.99. Champagne is always the most impressive. They also have Cremant for under a tenner which is quite trendy.

Aldi organic prosecco is so nice.
It regularly sells out.
7.99 and tastes better than many more expensive ones.

BananaBeforeBed · 16/07/2019 08:32

Thanks

Yep Aldi Prosecco. Lovely!

AllTheUserNamesAreTaken · 16/07/2019 08:36

I agree with a PP, Aldi organic Prosecco is really nice

Nanasueathome · 16/07/2019 08:36

Marks and Spencer Prosecco is £8
It’s very nice

LordProfFekkoThePenguinPhD · 16/07/2019 08:40

Waitrose sell a Prosecco - San Leno/Leo (?) that is usually on special offer of around£7-8. Rather nice. There is a link Asti version too.

Sicario · 16/07/2019 08:41

Asda have a nice prosecco on offer at the moment for 6 quid.

NC4Now · 16/07/2019 08:41

I came on to suggest Aldi organic Prosecco too!

VanillaSugarr · 16/07/2019 08:42

I was going to say the Aldi Cremant too!

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 16/07/2019 08:43

Freixenet Cordon Negro Cava. Currently £8 in Asda.

Don't be fooled by the Prosecco hype, this is a far superior fizz. Comes in a stylish black bottle too.

VanillaSugarr · 16/07/2019 08:44

Basically, go to Aldi!! Grin

Myimaginarycathasfleas · 16/07/2019 08:47

Another vote for the Waitrose San Leo Prosecco.

fussychica · 16/07/2019 09:36

Cava, a decent one like Freixenet or Cordornui should set you back no more than a tenner.

BarbaraofSeville · 16/07/2019 10:26

I like Waitrose San Leo Prosecco but I don't buy it because it's a bastard to open.

Another vote for the Aldi £7.99 prosecco. The val de long word beginninng with V that I can't remember. Or it might be Lidl.

Or the Sainsburys TTD Prosecco, currently on offer for £8 is also good.

I drink a lot of fizz and I've tried everything from the basic £5 cavas and proseccos to £30 champagne or £20 English Sparkling wine (you won't get this for your budget) and I honestly don't think there's a lot in it, so to be honest, I'd just buy a mid range bottle for about £8, that looks nice in the next supermarket that you're in.

I'd normally go for cava, mostly because I like Spain (see username) but oddly I don't think I like the big branded cavas, but I can't remember whether it was Freixenet or Cordornui that I wasn't impressed with.

As it's a gift, I'd feel weird about something from Aldi, and I don't know why because I shop there a lot and think that the quality is very good.

Samcotton85 · 16/07/2019 11:01

Aldi's Organic Prosecco has my vote. OR if you can get Freixenet Cordon Negro Extra Dry on a sale I find it gives less of a hangover.

Egg · 16/07/2019 11:07

Also just discovered Aldi organic prosecco. I have liked Tesco finest prosecco for a while too. Both are around £7/8.

BananaBeforeBed · 16/07/2019 11:47

Aldi feels wrong for a gift!

Sainsbury’s Taste the difference Prosecco is nice as is Asda extra special one. I don’t like the Waitrose San Leo one personally I find it a bit sweet. M&S one will be good.

hellsbellsmelons · 16/07/2019 11:55

Luis Cava Rose Brut - ASDA Groceries THIS is a nice one

Paddington68 · 16/07/2019 12:26

I have a friend who live din Alsace and always buys Cremant.
www.sainsburys.co.uk/shop/gb/groceries/sainsburys-cr%C3%A9mant-de-loire--taste-the-difference-75cl

£9.00 at the moment, on special offer

roothyb · 16/07/2019 12:54

Can vouch for the Sainsbury's TTD Prosecco! It's fantastic

Andromeida59 · 16/07/2019 13:43

I was also coming on here to mention Aldi's organic Prosecco.

ASqueakingInTheShrubbery · 16/07/2019 19:41

I was also going to recommend Aldi organic Prosecco.
