I had this for ages and it turned out they were getting caught on something in my washing machine. Same thing happened to all my housemates and we had to start using delicates bags...

I get bleachy looking stains on black gussets. My fanj must contain sulphuric acid.

I've always thought that bleachy stains on dark pants are caused by dehydration leading to stronger pee chemicals acting on fabric. Doesn't answer the holes question though!
