My anxiety is off the scale
Hasn't been this bad for an age
All the usual tricks aren't working
So
I just need distraction
Have run away with the paper for a Brew and some toast
Anyone want to just chat nonsense

Our local brass band are doing some fund raising and are playing in different locations round the village.

I love a brass band. It makes me feel nostalgic and happy at the same time.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 14/07/2019 11:00

Sure there'll be a mumsnetter on later to complain about the brass band noise on a sunday Smile
I love a brass band and a male voice choir

That brass band will be logged with the police any second now.

I’m doing nothing today, OP, besides watching the Wimbledon final.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 14/07/2019 11:13

Hopefully a trip to lie by the outdoor pool later and a barbecue dinner
Hopefully that should sort the anxiety out

I haven’t got out of bed yet (not really true, I’ve let the dogs out and fed my daughter’s rabbits otherwise I’d have two skeletons). Just trying to get enough energy to go down make breakfast! And I really want the papers too but that means getting dressed! Wonder if I can bribe my son...
As you can tell I see Sunday’s as a do nothing day. Maybe some laundry. But really I’m looking forward to the tennis (great excuse to just sit around). Tomorrow will be busy enough so just chilling. But I do need to get up because I’m starving!

Strugglingtodomybest · 14/07/2019 11:20

I'm lying on a sun lounger in my nightie. I can't be bothered to get dressed. Do I get a prize for laziest mare of the day?

ipswichwitch · 14/07/2019 11:24

We’re all still in pjs here - except DH who has been dispatched to the deli up the road for bacon sarnies. I’m absolutely loaded with cold and hay fever, feeling dizzy and I’m rather a lot of pain so I’m quite content to have a lazy day watching films with the DC.
We could do with a day to decompress - work hasn’t been busy, the kids are more than ready for the holidays and there’s still one week of school to get through!

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 14/07/2019 11:24

I keep telling myself I just need to survive another fortnight in work before two weeks leave
I may be a tad overtired on top of everything Sad

I'm trying to organise the dcs for a day out that I know I can't physically cope with but we bought the tickets for months ago and can't really afford to waste them. My knee is already sore and I'm trying to distract myself from all the work issues starting tomorrow

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 14/07/2019 11:34

Think it's Brew time for everyone

Strugglingtodomybest · 14/07/2019 11:56

I'm on my third mug of the morning, I'm starting to think about getting dressed.

DH has gone to our friends to watch the cricket already, I need to get a move on soon to join him with the kids.

hobnobsaremyfavourite · 14/07/2019 11:58

Planning a nice dinner for later and might take some of my frustrations out hacking away at some unruly shrubs in the back gardenGrin

Let’s talk handbags!!

I’m saving for this one...

Which will go beautifully with this scarf, which I already have.

Today I’m going to go see my daughters (both young adults) and I think I might pick up a Mac Donald’s on the way which will save me having to cook dinner (which I usually love to do for them when I visit, but today is a lazy day).

I am doing marie kondo for a while. Definitely feel better for it. Have see through containers for everything now. Lightbulbs and batteries and even a birthday box with all the little bits and pieces for a party. Need to do a few more drawers. But slowly getting there.
Teddy bears and tubberware are my little jobs today (plus some time outside obv)

Hope you feel better soon op

Ninkaninus · 14/07/2019 12:09

Mmmmmm me too! I live a minute’s drive away from one, I could eat a meal right now (if I could be bothered to go get it).

Ninkaninus · 14/07/2019 12:12

Ohhhh yes I have Kondoed a lot over the past few months and I love the resultant space in my home, mind and life. I used to live very minimally when I was younger but over the years had accumulated so much stuff, it’s so nice to get back to how it used to me (which is the way I prefer it really). I think I got rid of about 30 pairs of shoes!

Ninkaninus · 14/07/2019 12:14

(It’s a good thing I’m so lazy as I’m on low-carbing bootcamp atm so a burger and fries would be very bad indeed!)

Myshitisreal · 14/07/2019 12:16

Anyone ever eat 🍟 dipped in milkshake??? Always 3 fries in one little bundle, dipped into 🍓 milkshake. I can almost taste it 🤤

shinynewapple · 14/07/2019 12:22

It's overcast with a bit of rain here ( Midlands). Went to have my breakfast in the garden but it started to rain on me.

DS has just left for holiday with his friends, DH watching cricket. I will walk the dog in a bit then visit my mom.

Fish cakes, new potatoes and veg for tea.

QueenBeex · 14/07/2019 12:22

Do we have anything other than Brew to drink? Since I've been pregnant tea just doesn't taste right :(
I'll take you up on some toast though if you're making some!

What's everyone doing today?

QueenBeex · 14/07/2019 12:23

I've never tried fries dipped in milkshake but it doesn't sound very goodShock

birdling · 14/07/2019 12:41

I've got to clear out the shed. Just wondering what the size of the biggest spider will be.
