Ironing?

Don't know if this has been asked before but I wondered who bothers to iron their clothes these days? Apart from stuff that really can't be worn without being ironed like tailored shirts for example. I was talking to my mum before we went on holiday when I was packing my stuff and she said 'I bet you're up to your eyes in ironing' ....erm no, I don't iron many things mum and if DH wants anything ironing he can bloody well do it himself! She was like 'oh, poor X having to do his own ironing'

I'm sure this is just my mum's old-fashioned view that a wife should do everything for her husband but I wondered if I'm in the minority here and a bit of a slattern....

I iron. DH has been ironing this week as he's been off. His shirts need ironing, Dd's school shirts need ironing, my work uniform needs ironing, lots of other stuff needs ironing. Trust me, I don't iron things that don't need it but so much does and you can tell. No amount of shaking before drying, getting straight out of the machine, not overloading machine etc helps. It still needs bloody ironing! My ironing pile is currently taking over the spare room. DH made a dent in it and will continue with it next week. I will probably finish it off when I break up for summer. When it gets too bad or we're too busy, I outsource to get it cleared.

My mum does not iron. She no longer has an iron and uses mine on the very odd occasion she needs something doing so I've no idea where I've got this from, although I suspect it's my MIL!

We bought a superking bed and therefore superking duvet covers. I deliberately bought non iron ones. They aren’t.

I actually have stuff in an ironing basket under my bed that I can't wear unless I iron. I have no idea what's in there it's so long since I looked at it. I end up buying new clothes as I think I have nothing to wear! 😂
