Hi all. My little boy has had colic going on a few days now, he is 16 days old and for the last 3 days has been absolutely inconsolable in the late afternoon early evenings and will not go down for a nap for hours on end. we started infacol yesterday and are hoping it kicks in soon, what are your experiences in things to help the tummy pain for them. We have tried massage, leg exercises, keeping him upright. Last night we gave in to giving him a dummy as he seemed to be searching for food but couldn't possibly still be hungry, this seemed to soothe him.

This morning hasnt been too bad with him but I find myself dreading him waking up incase he doesn't feel better and the whole process starts again, is it normal to feel so anxious? He could be absolutely fine for the rest of today but I'm still tearing my hair out knowing we have to go and see family later over what has been his peak 'crying time' the last few days!!!

Do you have to go? I'm just thinking there's prob no benefit to you or your baby?

I've nothing useful to say other than congratulations Flowers and hang in there!

I wont go if he is unsettled but I'm in 2 minds as the car seat really helps him calm down and its about a 40 minute drive so it could help in the great scheme of things. We are actually going because it's my husbands great uncles yearly visit so the only chance he will get to meet our son for a while.

DD1 had colic from a milk protein allergy, DD2 it was me drinking orange juice (bf baby). They might be a reason, might not but try and get out to visit family. They'll love fussing over little one, give you a wee break and change of scenery for an few hours. It's not easy when they're that wee but it does pass.

For my DS the car seat made his colic worse as he wasnt stretched out to let the wind through. Also tomatoes and oranges made it worse.
