If you were a bracelet, where would you be?

I'm starting to panic now. Haven't seen very important bracelet since Saturday when I took it off while pulling some weeds. So if you were a bracelet where would you hide?! Please help!

DS has lost his five times. 1. In the inside pocket of a drawstring sports bag he uses. 2. Accidentally flung out of the car window while driving (luckily retrieved). 3. Down the side of the sofa. 4. In the pocket of what he was wearing at the time. 5. In the washing machine filter.
Where would you have taken it off? Shed shelf, windowsill, plant pot, pocket, bird table, garden chair, door handle, step.........?

Peg bag?

MissConductUS · 10/07/2019 20:20

When I misplace things it's usually because I was carrying it and then put it down to do something else, and immediately forget about it. Like on a shelf or a counter top. Retrace your steps after the gardening.

And interrogate all the local magpies

huggybear · 10/07/2019 20:23

Thanks all for suggestions so far - peg bag is a great shout I will go and check. I have checked most of the others and nothing. I could have sworn I put it on the shelf in our shed but it's not there.

I usually lose stuff like this in a pocket, which then ends up in the rim of the washing machine door. Or the DCs extract it and put it somewhere 'safe' for me. Sometimes I'll do something really silly like hanging it off a random hook/nail in the shed or garage.

Redshoeblueshoe · 10/07/2019 20:25

In your gardening gloves, or down the side of the settee.

rosegoldwatcher · 10/07/2019 20:27

Do you have an open staircase?
I have 'lost' many an item of jewellery by leaving it on the stairs (to take up later) only to find it days later in the void under the stairs.

INeedNewShoes · 10/07/2019 20:32

I know you wouldn't have intentionally put it there, but down the side of chair/sofa. This is where lost things go in my house!

huggybear · 10/07/2019 20:33

Negative for peg bag or gardening gloves and no open stairs (though I do often leave things on them). Washing machine rim is next port of call but tbh I'm a bit scared it could be there and broken. It's pretty heavy, I'm not sure how much weight a magpie can take but it is silver..

About to deconstruct sofa too.

Laundry basket, shelf in the shed/kitchen?

Leah2005 · 10/07/2019 20:40

How about the pocket of your husband's bath robe? Found my engagement ring there once. (In my husband's not yours). How about the plastic Rosemary Conley measuring spoons? Found my bracelet in there once too.

huggybear · 10/07/2019 20:44

Basket was completely empty Sunday night (smug much) so not there. Not on any shelves. Not in husbands robe (mine or Leah's!) Not in washing machine rim though that was grim. Sofa now..

Pocket of clothes you were wearing? Wrapped up in something? Between something in the shed?

huggybear · 10/07/2019 20:46

I FOUND IT!

It WAS down the sofa! I've never found anything of use (some hair ties and crisps though yuck) until now. THANK YOU! I felt lost without it. I know it's silly but I was wearing it on my first day of my first job, on my wedding, the day we bought our house etc. Phew. Thanks everyone!

No help but I have just tracked mine down to the boat we hired in May. I am so happy they found it.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 10/07/2019 20:48

Next to the sink. Near the loo? Inside the top you were wearing.

MissConductUS · 10/07/2019 20:49

Congratulations huggy, well done! Grin

rosegoldwatcher · 10/07/2019 20:50

Phew!
Happy days huggybear

ThatCurlyGirl · 10/07/2019 20:54

Cutlery drawer and fridge are my weirdest ones to date!

huggybear · 10/07/2019 20:54

I probably wouldn't have looked down the sofa if I hadn't asked on here because I was so sure if was outside!!

ThatCurlyGirl · 10/07/2019 20:55

Just saw you found it YAY!!

In case anyone else reads this in future, ALWAYS get someone to check where you already have. I always do the angry "yes I've OBVIOUSLY looked there" and inevitably someone else finds it in the same place.
