I've had a pretty stressful couple of weeks and today has been miserable and grey and rainy so I thought some midweek positivity would be a good idea.

-I met a dog called haggis ( he's a Dalmatian)

-I got to the location I was working at today and was immediately handed a massive slice of cake and a cup tea.

DS1 went off on a trip today and came back up the garden path three times to give me a hug before actually leaving for the airport.

I made the bed and it looked absolutely crease-free and perfect. I never does usually. (You said small things Grin)

DH made dinner tonight and it was delicious.

cakeandduvetday · 09/07/2019 22:36

Aw, that's so sweet! I hope he enjoys his trip.

There's something uniquely satisfying about a perfectly made bed. Makes you feel like you've got your whole life in order Grin

Having a teddy bears picnic with my DD (9 months) and my mum friends and babies

A lovely long cycle ride listening to music. Alone. It really was lovely.

@cakeandduvetday - if cake is involved then you’re winning.

@growlingbear - your DH sounds lovely.

My little boy has struggled with his speech for years and got discharged from speech therapy today. He’s gone from being a 9 year old who couldn’t talk and could only babble to a complete little chatter box.

SnowsInWater · 09/07/2019 22:49

My oncologist can no longer feel the tumor in my breast at today's appointment so I am tentatively hoping I have had a complete response to Chemo.

My 20yo is overseas and he has just FaceTimed me to tell me all about his fantastic day in Paris.

I have finally learned how to keep the wood burning stove alight overnight even when DH is away so my house is super toasty (Winter here).

I visited a young girl on my caseload today. she is so funny and sassy she made me belly laugh.

I picked up my 1 year old from the childminder and she insisted on walking around the supermarket singing at the top of her lungs.

I brought chocolate and had a glass of red wine 😊

Changeofjob · 09/07/2019 22:52

That’s brilliant news @ SnowsInWater

DameSquashalot · 09/07/2019 22:53

🥰

LaLaLamp · 09/07/2019 22:53

I was drinking coffee in a cafe today, and had to tip my head right back to get the froth Grin. The bloke sat on the next table must have thought I was a bit mad!

Frownette · 09/07/2019 23:00

That's really nice pizza and snowsinwater

It's been a bit of a 'meh' day (autocorrect tried to put meth!!) but I had some lovely juicy fruit and icecream earlier

Tigger001 · 09/07/2019 23:01

I was at the park today with my DS and his "friends". (Enough to make me smile on its own)
I stopped an older chap to ask about his breed of dog, and he was hilarious. He had us all in hysterics.

I love a random encounter that makes me smile.

UbercornsGoggles · 09/07/2019 23:03

My daughter (nearly 3) made me belly laugh by telling me "I have a plan" when I wasn't sure which way to turn out of a car park.

RaymondReddington · 09/07/2019 23:05

My daughter wanted to chat tonight instead of stories. We’ve covered everything and when I kissed her goodnight, she said, “you’re the best mummy ever”.

She’s 8 and it made me all squishy inside Smile

OhioOhioOhio · 09/07/2019 23:07

I've cheered my mum and dad up. My brother has helped me heaps.

ineedagirlsname · 09/07/2019 23:07

I got out of hospital this evening after having my appendix removed. Been in hospital since last Wednesday. Home to my 6 yr old DS and 4 week old DD.
It was an emotional homecoming and a very special hug from them both.

Waytooearly · 10/07/2019 05:48

What a sweet thread.

My friend gave birth to a little girl.

DownWentTheFlag · 10/07/2019 05:57

These are lovely to read. My six year old DS won a set of shower gels/hand cream on the tombola at the school fair, and instead of being disappointed he proudly presented them to me.

sashh · 10/07/2019 06:06

Yesterday - but it might happen again today.

My living room opens onto my garden. The cat was in the garden and wanted her belly rubbing. She spent a good 10 mins positioning herself and then looking at me as if to say, "look how irresistible my belly is" and then when I didn't respond repositioned herself.

Turquoisetamborine · 10/07/2019 06:11

I’ve been awake most of the night worrying but I’ve come downstairs and sat with my cup of tea looking at the garden and fed the birds. Then I couldn’t resist going out and having a look at how the flowers have changed since I was last in the garden on Sunday. The sun and rain has opened up a lot of flowers and brought me pleasure on a crappy day.

GriseldaChop · 10/07/2019 06:24

I was an outdoor activities day with Y8 students from my school, they were abseiling but a few were scared and didn't want to do it. With a bit of persuasion and two of us staff going up with them they did it. When we got back down they both wanted a second go and one said to me 'I've conquered my fears, are you proud?', and yes I really was!

LadyOfTheCanyon · 10/07/2019 06:56

There was a robin on the postbox at the top of my road this morning absolutely bellowing. He was gorgeous.

YorkieTheRabbit · 10/07/2019 08:36

I’ve just been picking flowers from the garden, I grew loads from seed especially for cutting, they’re looking lovely
Both the blackbirds and the robins have got their babies in the garden, the blackbirds are in the rose bed and the robins are on the feeder. Smile

Slippershoes · 10/07/2019 08:42

Dd came through to our room for a cuddle after the sun had come up on her clock (6.10am) GrinBrew

itsaseaturtles · 10/07/2019 15:54

My speech delayed toddler has had upwards of 25 courses of antibiotics due to ear problems (lost count) he's always had extremely poor hearing, after very recent surgery and a long course of antibiotics he can finally hear properly.

Out of nowhere this week said "where did the yellow train go Mama?" And has continued to speak several words in a row since.

I also saw a little girl in the sports shop pull the shorts down on a mannequin, her mum was mortified and in her haste to pull them back up she sort of hugged it and it fell against her with its shorts down. Grin

Owlish · 10/07/2019 16:00

This. He's having a snooze Smile
