Can I claim anything back for Easyjet flights I won't be using?

I was supposed to be flying internally next week with my DP to my DDs graduations but my DD is unwell so they are not coming. I am now going on the car with my DH and DD. I know I won't get the cost of the flights back if I cancel as we don't have insurance but I wondered if they would give some sort of credit note against future flights or whatever? Anyone know anything about this?

I mean my DF is unwell. DD is fine and is going to her graduation!

If you’re not travelling you can claim back the tax. Call their customer services number and tell them you’re cancelling and that you want to claim a tax refund.

Or you can pay the change fee plus fare difference to swap to a new date.

I’m guessing you don’t have travel insurance to claim on as you don’t mention it. If you did that would be your best bet for getting your money back.

Thanks. I have yearly travel insurance but I am not the one that is unwell. My DPs don't have insurance. I will see about getting the tax back. We can't arrange another date. My DF be flying again.

Do your parents have any travel insurance included with their bank accounts?

Apolloanddaphne · 09/07/2019 20:41

No. My DM would have told me if they did.

Your travel insurance might cover it as it is illness of a close family member. Give them a call!

And speak to Easyjet. You never know, they might give you more back!

Apolloanddaphne · 09/07/2019 20:45

Yeah it might be worth it.

EasyJet refund by way of a voucher in some circumstances. It's on their website somewhere.

MinnieMountain · 09/07/2019 21:52

Here you go, it's in Article 6:
www.easyjet.com/en/terms-and-conditions

You will only get your taxes back unless it's due to a serious illness or bereavement. Then they give you a voucher (which is a pain to use).
