Do you leave everything to the last minute like me?

Weirdly I’m never late for things and am really organised, people always come to me to check dates/ times/ arrangements for things. But I always leave things to the last minute. I have a big project due tomorrow, I’ve literally had months to do it. Is it finished? Like fuck is it!! Not even close. I’ll do it tonight and I will get it done but why do I do this to myself??! Confused

I’m the same. I’m very organised int REM’s of lists and diaries and knowing what’s going on, knowing who needs what when but when it comes to actually doing stuff I leave it to the last minute and pull it out of the bag. I seem to work much bette me under pressure!!!
People always say how organised I am and DH just laughs.

CakeNinja · 09/07/2019 16:57

I am.
I’m very laid back; everything gets done on time.
I think it’s about managing time.
My friend and I were discussing this once when I was due to go on holiday.
She asked me if I was packed and ready. Of course not, we weren’t going away until the next day. I know I can get packed up in about an hour (5 of us) - why on earth would I start earlier than I needed to just to prolong the agony when I can just just it done an hour before we need to go?!
She doesn’t get my way, I don’t get hers.
I manage my time effectively as does she.
But no, I don’t do anything until I need to. And I don’t spend ages sitting and worrying about all the things I still have to do - that would be counterproductive!!

I am like this. Especially with things that bore me - I think I need the adrenaline to keep myself interested!
I am also organised and cram a hell of a lot into my and my kids' lives.
My eldest is super organised, we are like chalk and cheese!

yes last minute.com here too.

everything does get done on time.

But I also suffer from procrastination and that can get me down and it turns into vicious circle of me knowing I need to do something but not been able to motivate myself to do it, then I feel shit for not doing it.
So now I find the best and only way of dealing it is to not even think about attempting to do it(whatever it maybe) until the last minute, then it's job done and dusted Smile

why so patronizing? you asked a question I have an answer.... maybe that is why you struggle

GeorgieTheGorgeousGoat · 09/07/2019 18:28

Glad I’m not the only one. It’s like a dirty little secret because I do always get it done. Like you @BrieAndChilli when people compliment me on my organisation skills, Dh laughs! Grin

No I’m afraid I’m like user1483387154 I couldn’t live like that OP. I’m very organised (although not very tidy) but I couldn’t stand the stress of having to try and cram things in last minute

dudsville · 09/07/2019 22:46

I also couldn't do that. Just couldn't bear the stress. I also submit early. I'm not aiming for perfection (although I did well at uni), I just want the load off my mind. From what I can see those who do last minute can also do well, but maybe need the pressure????? Is it boring to just do it early?
