To love one another, to receive love.

Charles11 · 09/07/2019 13:42

I don’t think there is any meaning. It just is.

Pineapplefish · 09/07/2019 13:43

I don’t think there is one really. We’re born, we live, we die. The world keeps turning.

I’m a very positive cheerful person (honest), but I don’t feel the need to seek out a deeper meaning to life.

DifficultPifcultLemonDifficult · 09/07/2019 13:44

There isn't a meaning. Lots of people try to say there is one to rationalise the randomness of it all, but there's no meaning, it just is.

EssentialHummus · 09/07/2019 13:44

I think that there isn’t one, and that’s all the more reason to be gentle/kind to the people you meet along the way when you can. (Ie if you’re going to create a purpose, that seems the one to go for.)

Sonicknuckles · 09/07/2019 13:50

We know it in our hearts. It always has been and will be love.

MephistophelesApprentice · 09/07/2019 13:52

To squeeze as much hedonistic pleasure as we can manage into the brief window of our mortality.

JennaOfEluria · 09/07/2019 13:54

But in all seriousness, there isn't a point so make the most of what you have.

Flower777 · 09/07/2019 13:56

There isn’t one.

When I was depressed I worried about this.

But now I’m not depressed I don’t. I like to find beauty in small things. I like to connect with people. I like to find meaning in things.

But there isn’t any point as such.

Are you ok OP? Is this something you are worrying about?

Hecateh · 09/07/2019 13:59

We are here simply as hosts to millions of gut bacteria. They keep us alive so they are able to

Amibeingdaft81 · 09/07/2019 14:01

Babdoc · 09/07/2019 14:06

As a Christian, I’d say to love God and love our fellow humans as ourselves, looking forward to the time after death when we will be free of the constraints of time and space, reunited with our loved ones, and safe in the direct presence of God.
If you think the physical world is all there is, and have no belief in God, then I can see you’d be hard pressed to identify any meaning or purpose to the accident of existence, beyond simple survival and reproduction.

expatinspain · 09/07/2019 14:18

There isn't a meaning. We live and we die. That's it.

Soola · 09/07/2019 14:18

We are beings in search of meaning (Plato).

As an atheist, we may not have been created with any pre-determined purpose, but this doesn’t mean that we can’t have a purpose, nor that this purpose cannot be just as good as, if not much better than, any pre-determined one.

And so the meaning of life, of our life, is that which we choose to give it.

FrancesFryer · 09/07/2019 14:20

@JennaOfEluria

Beat me to it

Lardlizard · 09/07/2019 14:29

Love and reproduce

Enjoy yourself
(It's later than you think)

babysharkah · 09/07/2019 16:11

Can't answer it. To love and reproduce sounds a bit contrite to me, no offence op, but I want to know what the point of that is. It's easier for me to think there is no point as otherwise my head starts to hurt!!

MsRinky · 09/07/2019 16:15

Have a good time all the time.

Rachelover40 · 09/07/2019 16:20

Agree with LaurieFairyCake.
Also to enjoy ourselves as much as possible because that makes happy memories, something to draw on when times are difficult.

3luckystars · 09/07/2019 16:21

I think we are all just strands in a huge web.

babba2014 · 09/07/2019 16:22

To be good and find out why we are here, what happens next and how to make the best of this life.

Meaning of life:

NorthEndGal · 09/07/2019 16:23

First off, to reproduce, and if we are lucky, we create our own meaning in life through personal goals.

groundanchochillipowder · 09/07/2019 16:26

There isn't one, it just is. We're here for a good time, not a long time.
