Where to have lunch in San Sebastian?

We will be spending a day in San Sebastian in a few weeks and are wondering if anyone has a recommendation or two as to where best to eat.

Also any other experienced tips on parking (we gave up trying to find parking there last year on a busy Sunday so intend arriving earlier this time) and would probably also like to visit the beach.

The best and most famous part of ss is the tiny quarter old town. Head there for tapas, move from tapas bar tapas bar, there is no other way to eat lunch in ss. It would be like going to Paris and putting a blind fold on around eiffel tower.

Anywhere in the old town! The streets around the cathedral are full of pinchos bars; go and have a look what's on the counters and pick whatever takes your fancy.

Don't have lunch as such - wander around the old town having lots of delicious pintxos and tapas

Oh it's unanimous so! Sounds stupid Blush but how do I go about pintxos? Or tapas for that matter?

I feel untethered when faced with anything other than waitress service BlushBlushBlush

Definitely pintxos in the old town they usually are priced such as 3 for 3euro 6 for euro etc, just point , they usually speak English quite well , dont go to one of the restaurants on the promenade area overlooking the sea/beach overpriced and nowhere near as nice . If you are not on a budget, just google the Michelin star places, there are a few in the city
