Safety for adult daughter

Hi everyone,
I wonder if someone might be able to advise me please. My adult daughter, in her late 20s has to move to Northampton for work. She will be living alone most of the time, although her partner will be around at weekends. She needs to be as close as possible to the hospital but she doesn't drive. Can anyone suggest anywhere that might be a safe area for her to live in. As a parent from the leafy suburbs I am really worried as the crime listings in the general area seem to be very high. If she could drive she would probably choose to live slightly further out but needs to either be able to walk or have a good bus service.
Many thanks

I don't disagree that it is for her to sort out. She is an adult, as you say but she is also an incredibly busy person so a variety of people are simply trying to help her out by finding out about an area she doesn't know and which appears to have a pretty dire reputation as a safe place to live.

Nothing wrong with trying to help your adult daughter. I always find comments suggesting otherwise really puzzling.

I don't know Northampton OP so I'm afraid I can't help, but I hope she finds somewhere suitable.

My DD2 went to nurse in Northampton after Uni.
She lived in the Abington area..rented a flat. Actually she had two flats, one about 20 mins walk from the hospital and then the second one 2 mins walk away .
Central Northampton looks pretty rough on first glance to be honest, but actually she had two happy years there (came back home last year!)
She did once look out of her flat to see someone being battered..turned out it was a gang of drug thugs beating one of their own, but mostly it was ok!

Thank you so much for replying. I will let her know. She mentioned that someone had suggested Abington as a possibility so that will be added to the possible list I think 😃
