Bridesmaid 3 months after baby

So I'm a bridesmaid for my SIL and the wedding is 3 months after my due date. She's starting to look at buying bridesmaid dresses (likely high street rather than from bridal shops) and I've no idea what size to get. I'm normally a size 14 and not exactly toned before getting pregnant. Should I go up one dress size? Two? I know it's easier to take in than to let out so erring on getting an 18 and hope it takes in okay.

Definitely not envious at the other bridesmaids asking for size 10s on the groups chat. Gonna look like a right whale Grin

I think the style of the dress is as important. There would be more give on an empire line dress for example. I was a 14 before put on 3 stone and was a 14 3 months after but most of the weight was in the tummy still.

If you're breast-feeding your boobage will be larger and firmer than usual, take that into account!

Depends how much give there is in the material and style around the boobs and tummy. I went up on size after having my DD even though I lost most of my tummy and didn’t gain any boob size at all!

Thanks all. She hasn't decided on a dress yet. I know she's planning on having a mix of different style dresses and there's another bridesmaid whose baby will be 6 months so hopefully shell find a style that will be better for us

Maybe see if she'd consider a wrap-style dress. Then you'd have a bit of wriggle room!
