They are cuddled up on the sofa with tea and biscuits watching Love Island and i’ve just heard him say “I love doing old people things with you”

Aww.

MrsMozartMkII · 05/07/2019 21:31

Aw. That is so sweet.

AWhistlingWoman · 05/07/2019 21:31

Aw, that is so lovely. Brought a tear to my eye!

DustyMaiden · 05/07/2019 21:32

She will be on here complaining about her nosey MIL Smile

AuntieStella · 05/07/2019 21:36

So, taking up running, climbing Everest, dancing wildly all night long, skinny dippin, exotic holidays, sailing ... anything and everything

(If it's not that, and instead it's casual ageism, then no, it's not a good thing to say to anyone for any reason)

BertrandRussell · 05/07/2019 21:40

Actually- I was thinking about the mil thing this very afternoon. I have to say, if I though she had hurt him I don’t think I would be answerable for the consequences!

Adorable! How old are they?

MyGastIsFlabbered · 05/07/2019 21:43

@AuntieStella I'm doing an Emma eye rolll at that.

BertrandRussell · 05/07/2019 21:44

And yes, I know about the ageism. I’m usually in it like a rapier. But he knows old people do loads of stuff- his parents are old and do exciting things.

If you 'know' me, you'll know I have no patience for casual ageism, just as some have no patience for casual sexism. It's never 'aww' - it's limiting and wrong, and needs to be challenged.

Especially on MN where it is bloody rife

(And Bertram I am surprised at your reaction to it, given how you usually post)

BertrandRussell · 05/07/2019 21:52

“Adorable! How old are they?“

17 and 18.

Guilty as charged, Auntie Stella. It must be my inner mil.
I’ll be back to normal tomorrow.
