Should I buy a second hand cloud 9 thick plate straightener?

As the title says, should I buy one that is secondhand or should I get a brand new one? I'm getting a bit of money to treat myself with shortly, compensation from a car accident about a year ago, happened last Summer. majority going on debts, but my boyfriend said treat yourself with a little bit, so I am. If I do get one used, it would be this one or whatever one the seller is selling at that time, I believe they repurpose with cables/whatever they need and then sell them on. I don't know if they are genuine but would like to think so. What do you guys think. Should I get new or used? My GHD's died and I emailed GHD and despite being a customer with them for quite a few years by using that model, they wouldn't help, except give a very slight discount. I had heard of Cloud 9 and knew they were good if not better. My hair is very thick and currently growing out from short hair almost into a bob. I want to grow it out so would like this straightener.

Sorry, I did try and put in the link to the used straightener, but it wouldn't let me.

For an extra £60 I'd rather get them from the official website.

Definitely a shiny new set. I treat myself earlier this year to some and they are one of my best buys.

Treat yourself to new. Hope the car accident wasn't too bad.

@userxx thank you, naturally shook us up a bit but we are fine now, luckily boyfriend had a dashcam (EVERYONE should have one) and captured the person behind us, older man, going normal speed then speeding and kept going like that until he smashed into us. It showed he was looking at something down in his hand, what we think was a phone. I went to the hospital as it seemed I was in shock, but I wasn't.Anyway the whole car was damaged, my partner got a good amount of money not sure what it is called and he is getting his compensation soon, I applied as a passenger as I was more injured than my partner physically, but they never got back to me lol. My partner has kindly said I could have some money. The bloke due to not looking where he was driving, also caused us to smash into the car ahead. We were going normal speed, quite slow as were about to stop at the traffic lights shortly and there was a traffic jam.

Get new. My cloud 9's are ten years old now and still good as new. They are cheaper than the cheapest in terms of cost per use.
