Driving home this evening, the traffic in the one-way system was even worse than usual. Took me 15mins to drive about half a mile at one point. But after I'd gone round the first corner I could see the cause of the traffic. Where the road forked and there were pelican crossings on both roads, a woman was standing on the central island with a baby in her arms and carrying the baby from side to side so the baby could press the shiny buttons and make the lights change. They were giggling and gurgling away, having a lovely time. They were also the only pedestrians there.
Give me strength!
(And a big, cold drink.)
