Would you rather have a fancier house or more holidays?

Just pondering.

Looking at moving house at the moment due to hateful neighbours.

If I stay put in our (mid terrace, small but perfectly comfortable) house, we could afford to spend £5k plus for holidays each year. If we move we can have a lovely home, but won't be able to afford to holiday much (probably every second year).

What would you choose, given the choice?

I would say house. I get 11 weeks holiday a year. But don’t get paid all that much . As my contract is 46 weeks a year. So would rather have 6 or 8 weeks of holiday a year instead then be able to get on the property ladder

Ooooo - we’ve done this😁. We holiday in UK 1 week a year but live in a darn nice house. I find it positively 😱 the amount people will spend on one week of their year versus the other 51!! I can see that with just 2 of you the extra space is prob unnecessary though hence your dilemma. Def don’t report or put anything in writing to the neighbours if you’re looking at selling soon!!

I’d prioritise holidays over house, but not if I were unhappy in the house. If your neighbours are making your life miserable then that’s different.

House for me as I would find more daily enjoyment in that

Why would people prioritise holiday over house? Just curious, it's one or two weeks a year vs the other 50 🤔

I care very little for material things and the house I live in is fine.

KennDodd · 04/07/2019 19:24

Fine for me, I should add, others might be less happy with it.

House with awful neighbours

Holiday if lovely neighbours.
