Does anyone else find it hard to go to sleep if they've had any sugar in the evenings (after 6pm)?

I always feel extremely alert, hyper and going to sleep would be the last thing on my mind (even at midnight, I'd be wide awake) even if I have a slightly sugary yoghurt..!

Anyone else get this?

No. I do think I have a bit of a talent for sleeping though. I could mainline redbulls right up to bedtime and still nail a good 7 hours sleep.

Nope.

nicecuppaforme · 03/07/2019 21:04

No. I thought it was a myth that sugar made you hyper.

Ah kinda surprised no one else gets the same effect!

I do, also can get palpitations/heart racing. Caffeine affects me too.

Me too! It's horrible. I get heart palpitations whenever I have sugar, but it's worse when I have it at night. I still don't learn though Hmm

Yes Grin that’s why I’m posting furiously at 3.03. Had a lovely dinner with pudding followed by an icecream late last night. Not sleepy at all. I get the sugar rush OP but Im very sensitive to it as i dont normally eat it. It makes my heart race.

I can't say I do, I rarely have anything sweet anyway but last evening I drank a milk shake and suppose that is sugary. Though I'm occasionally insomniac it's not sugar related. However it sounds feasible so if sugar affects you like that, don't eat or drink anything containing sugar after mid afternoon.
