An old condition has flared up and long story short - went to emergency GP Today, who referred me immediately to hospital and I'm having surgery tomorrow morning.
The thing is I handed my notice in a week ago and got persuaded to stay on an extra week whilst they recruit. It looks like the down time following the surgery may well take me through my entire notice period.
Do I retract the extra week they asked me to stay on (it's official I amended my notice letter), or do I just take it as Sick? New job doesn't start until a week later so if I retract I'll be taking it unpaid which would be a struggle
