Hi I have a necklace with this mark on it but I don't know if it's silver. Trying to sell on eBay and don't want to mislead! Sorry the photo isn't great. My daughter thinks it says 925 but my eyes are t good enough!

Does it have a lion on it?

I think you need a better photo
here is a picture I got from google, but gives you some idea of what a silver mark should look like

Try taking a picture of the hallmark using the macro setting on your camera.

925 is sterling silver.

YouJustDoYou · 30/06/2019 19:41

Those look like uk makers marks, which you could look up yourself but the clarity isn't great enough to locate the original maker.

Thank you didn't want to sell under false pretences!

Definitely 925

CruellaFeinberg · 30/06/2019 20:16

yes - that looks silver JJP - you need the other marks around the 925 - for reference I own a 925 stamp so if its 925 on its own, be wary

looks modern, and not so easy to look up

ricky0672 · 30/06/2019 22:00

Hello yes its definitely silver and also manufactured in Birmingham uk as it has the anchor on it

tinkywinkyshandbag · 30/06/2019 22:26

Thank you! I knew Mumsnet was the place to ask x

I am an avid Bargain Hunt watcher! 925 is sterling silver but if it has no other marks (eg Anchor is for Birmingham) then it will be imported silver.
