I would say moth too but no idea what sort, never seen one of those before. I'm having quite the informative day on MN regarding insects with the thread about billy witches

Wow thanks @msmith501 that's definitely it. I looked at it for ages before deciding to take a pic - I was sure someone on here would know.

I loved how the description stated "the adults can sometimes be found resting conspicuously in the daytime" that's exactly what it was doing!
