Help! We moved into a new house about a week ago - just been down to the kitchen (not needed to do this before in the middle of the night) and there are about 20 slugs / baby slugs crawling over the floor eugh!!!! No sign bar the odd slime trail in the mornings. I obviously need to put some kind of slug pellet down? Does this mean we'll wake up to a scene of dead slugs across the floor or will they retreat to die? I really need to get s drink of water (I went down to get calpol for the baby before) but just can't face it so going to try and sleep!. Any tips gratefully received.

You need to work out where they are getting in. It sounds like you may have a damp wall with an air brick in it.
If you have children, don’t put slug pellets down, they are poisonous.
Tomorrow morning, wash the floor, once it’s dry, brush some salt under where they are coming in, maybe under the skirting board of the outside wall or under the kitchen cupboards. Slugs won’t cross a salt line
