Swimming costume suggestions that I can get tonight?!

Blubluboo · 28/06/2019 18:24

Any recommendations please? Feeling really self conscious at the moment, legs are bigger than I'd like and tummy! I'm going swimming in the sea tomorrow and need a costume tonight. I am near a city and can go to regular high street shops within 20 mins or maybe a supermarket?!

Classic speedo always been flattering on my big tum

fatcatshavemorefun · 28/06/2019 18:26

this prob won't be a popular answer but I quite like the M&S ones, the 'secret control' ons with ruching are quite flattering imo

fatfluffycushion · 28/06/2019 18:28

Sainsbury's

Coming on to say M&S secret slimming ones too. Worth an early morning dash if you can't get one tonight.

BobTheFishermansWife · 28/06/2019 18:29

Tesco have some nice ones in at the moment, they have a really nice black tummy control one in at my local extra, it's got a ruching on the sides.

nicecuppaforme · 28/06/2019 18:30

If you're going to the beach then you could wear swim shorts (like ladies Bermuda's) and a bikini or tankini top?

FrenchSchnoodle · 28/06/2019 18:31

Agree with above plus M&S currently have some swimwear in the sale

Blubluboo · 28/06/2019 18:32

Thanks all for the quick replies. There's an M and S 10 min drive away that closes at 8, I didn't think of there so thank you! I recently bought a pair of exercise trousers and they are the best pair I've ever bought!

There's a huge asda next door too so if no luck I can try there... and last stop I pass a Tesco on the way home!

I will let you know how I get on!

M&S one.
I got one this year that was very flattering. It held my tummy in and had a little peplum type skirt to hide my thighs.

nitgel · 28/06/2019 18:32

My favourite ones were really plain from m and s and next. I found Speedos etc so tight

JPduck · 28/06/2019 18:33

M&S gets my vote

Blubluboo · 28/06/2019 18:33

Also a good idea nicecuppa thank you!! Will see how I get on at m and s :)

I'm usually pear shaped but weight gain has meant I'm more of an apple at the moment. Most of my swimsuits come from M&S or ASDA

NotExactlyHappyToHelp · 28/06/2019 18:41

Asda have got some lovely halter neck fifties vibe ones with hold you all in control bits on them.

I was a bit suspicious that they’d be crap but they’re actually dead good for the price.

Devondoggydaycare · 28/06/2019 19:03

Definitely M& S as they should have a decentv4ange of styles. Try on as many as possible and ignore the size on the label, just find a cut that fits and makes you feel confident.

Blubluboo · 28/06/2019 21:17

Thanks for all the suggestions!

Well I went to M and S and found a perfect swimming costume in the sale, it was the last one left in my size. I tried on about 4. I bought it. Then I called in to asda and found another one and tried it on and couldn't decide which I preferred. So I now have 2 costumes! They'll come in handy though.

Excellent new Blu.

BobTheFishermansWife · 28/06/2019 21:37

Brilliant news! Have fun tomorrow!

Devondoggydaycare · 28/06/2019 22:14

Can we see pictures and help you decide which to wear tomorrow?

Blubluboo · 30/06/2019 20:52

Sorry Devon... I only now saw this as I was without signal overnight while I was away! I wore the m and s on yesterday. Felt great :)
