I've just dropped my brand new Fire Tablet

SMASH went the screen. Only had it 2 weeks.

I've done some googling and I'm pretty sure Amazon aren't going to help me out with this (dropsy fingers not covered by warranty).

Just wanted to check here in case anyone had any words of wisdom before I toddle off to the phone repair shop.

Do you have accidental damage on your home insurance? Might not be worth the excess but they might arrange a guaranteed repair. I would be careful where you take it. My iPhone had erroneous input issues after having a smashed screen replaced, so check what the repair place offers in terms of repair guarantees.

I'd take it around a few replacement services and see what deal they can do. On the plus side a quick google makes me think these screens are pretty cheap (£10-20) and the labour should only be £20-30.

Thanks both

Try Amazon first. They repaired my daughter's one when the screen smashed. Hers was a fault with it though she didn't drop it.

Be careful with the T&C - if you have it repaired by a phone shop and not amazon it might invalidate the warranty.

I contacted Amazon as my almost new screen had become cracked while we were travelling. I was expecting them to say "tough". They sent me a new on straight away with all my original content loaded up.

Thanks for your reply Jackernanna.
I emailed Amazon and they've sent me a replacement!
It would never have occurred to me to do that, so thanks

I washed one on a 60 wash with the sheets.
Gutted.
I claimed on insurance (it was at DB house and his fire) they told me it was quite common Blush
I wouldn't recommend it though!
