How long on average does it take to sell and buy another house and actually move in?

We sold at the end of the November, found a house in Jan/Feb, moved in end of June.

It was our vendors purchase of a new build that held it all up (quite frankly it was a nightmare)

From offer acceptance to moving, July to January. Ridiculous and exhausting and annoying in equal measure.

33 weeks here, July to April, absolutely horrific but not the norm.

From offer to move 6 weeks but that was no chain either end and a LOT of pushing. Was on the market for 4 months prior as market was sloooow end of last year/early this in London

We listed ours for sale on 15th Feb and moved in to our new one on 1st April but we could have moved 24th March, we chose to wait a week due to prior commitments. 2 houses in chain, cash buyer buying ours and our vendor moving in with parents.

Offer accepted on sale and purchase early March, moving in at the end of July. At times a very stressful process.

Had different each time. 1st ever one the man whose house we were buying pulled out on exchange day. That was fun. So that took over a year.

Other had been three months. The last one took ages. It went on over the summer. Everyone went I holiday in both sides so that added on two months. Also our solicitor was an online one only ( never using that kind of one again ) and took over six months. There was always another survey for this that or another. It was a nightmare.

I love where I’m living now. And I don’t ever want to do it again if I don’t have to.
