DD finished school tomorrow for the summer and, apart from getting a happy meal, we don’t really have any traditions.

Do you have any I could steal?!

Mine finished yesterday, and went to see toy story, then a mcdonalds last night- it was a fab way to start the holidays.

We go camping or glamming the first weekend, and love it!! Such a nice way to kickstart the holiday. This year DH is taking the 2 eldest alone, I don’t fancy taking 9 month old DS too, so we’ll join them on the beach for the day!

Assuming, like my 2, their school shoes and other bits are totally trashed and need replacing, on the last day of school we thank the items (Marie Kondo style) and throw them in the bin.

We also go out for gelato.

We used to go on holiday on the last day of term (tomorrow) but we are not going this year due to illness Sad

Too tired to do anything fancy but I always get in their favourite bits and pieces for lunch. Sometimes we have a look through their old school work/play a game.
I love the last day of school.

risk of derailing but our school doesn't break up until 20th July, (thank goodness)

Watching with interest :)

I’m in Ireland. Schools started breaking up on Tuesday.

Some good ideas here. I like the cinema idea but 2 year old wouldn’t sit through it yet.

We stick all the school uniform through the wash and put it into storage till its needed again.

I'm a teacher and my last day tradition is to play Alice coopers "schools out" at full blast in my car on the way home.

When we get home we all collapse in a heap, order pizza and watch a film. Nothing practical gets done in last day!!

My DS has left school for ever now that he’s finished his A levels, I am delighted Grin. Never have to think about school life again ! And I honestly won’t miss it in the slightest.

Titsywoo · 27/06/2019 23:55

We always go out for dinner of their choosing.

DDs school actually closes this summer. I think we will all be having a huge sigh of relief that there is no more closing ceremonies and events to attend.
