Broadband provider opinions - I despair 😩

Virgin have just put my broadband/phone line bill up to 45.50 from 33. No way can I afford to stay and they won’t/can’t give me any discount so am going to have to leave.

I use my iPad for watching tv, music, reading, etc so need a good speed. I’ve looked at the trust pilot reviews for BT, Plusnet, EE, 02, Sky and they are ALL 1*. I have no idea who to go with on the basis of every sodding review being so grim.

If you are with any of this bunch are you happy with them and do you get any buffering when watching videos/tv? Thanks so much.

That doesn't sound right. I know there's something in the contract about annual price increase in line with...something... but it's only a couple of %. Sorry I don't know for sure but that's a hell of an increase!

NowTV?

I pay £29.99 for phone, tv and high speed FTTC broadband?

they always do good new customer offers too www.nowtv.com/offers

We have BT fibre broadband, it's fine. Never noticed any buffering.

A lot of people only bother to review things if they want to moan about it, so I'd not take too much weight of reviews. Their experience won't be the same as your's anyway unless they are your next door neighbour.

It's annoying, but you've got to keep changing or persuade your supplier to give you a loyalty discount, otherwise, you'll pay more than you need to.

I think BB reviews are tricky. One area could have great service from a company A and another area appaling service. If you're on FB I'd ask on the local pages what experiences people have with providers

I've had good service from Plusnet and Sky, BT have been crap (but our hands were tied so we had to have BT as there were very few providers that covered this area when we first moved here). I found Plusnet were much better ate sorting line/BB issues than BT were.

Thanks all. Yes I guess only those with a gripe generally write reviews. It does seem a heck of an increase on the part of Virgin but they said this is what it is now and they couldn’t do any discounts even when I said I’d have to leave as it was too much for a simple package. I’ve had increases before and they’ve always been quick to lower the price when I’ve phoned.
