Okay to use microwave in bedroom?

I recently moved to a houseshare and am thinking of using my microwave in my room, as I have it left over from the studio flat I used to have.

It's a bit of a trek to the kitchen from my room and I figured this would be easier, also the one in the kitchen is pretty messy.

Is this safe? I've read about it being a fire risk, but I only seem to read that on websites relating to student accommodation.

Also, there's nothing in my tenancy agreement that appears to forbid the use of a microwave in my room... the only thing it mentions is not to have an electric heater due to it costing too much in bills.

And even if it is safe to use... is it just a bit weird to be using a microwave in my bedroom??

It's a bit weird but I don't really see the problem I'd just unplug it when you're not using it to be safe.

It’s fine; in studio apartments or bedsits people do it. I’m not sure it really makes sense though as surely you’d need cutlery and plates for anything you’re putting in the microwave so you’ll end up in the kitchen anyway

I can't see a safety problem really but I do think it would make your bedroom smell and is your room REALLY so far away from the kitchen??? Do you House share in Wuthering Heights??

Slightly odd but I think I would have, in fact I think we used a pizza cooker type thing Hmm, we had a kitchen in the basement and my room was on 2 floor, avoided going up and down when possible
