Hairdresser did a shit job

I had a mother & baby photo shoot booked so arranged for a mobile hairdresser to come and curl my hair with ghds before my shoot.

I wasn't sat in front of a mirror so couldn't see what she was doing but when she finished she showed me the front of my hair and it was in ringlets! I didn't want to appear rude (which I kicked myself for afterwards) so said thanks and let her out. I thought I'd be able to run my fingers through to loosen it but she'd sprayed so much hairspray it was crispy. I don't normally have hairspray so hated the feel of it.

She also trimmed my fringe but I noticed it was very uneven.

She hadn't straightened from the top so it was frizzy at the top and ringlets and the bottom.

5 minutes after she left I messaged her asking her to come back and fix it but she said she couldn't and that I should have told her there and then.

I managed to get in at the hairdressers 10 minutes away but it was a mad dash and I ended up paying twice.

I've messaged her again saying how unhappy I am and that I'd like my money back but she's basically called me a liar and doesn't believe I went elsewhere !

Should I ask again for my money back? Should I leave poor feedback for her on Facebook? (That's where I booked her)

Or should I just put it down to experience and make sure I have a hairdresser I've had before I future?!

The time to say something was while she was in your home and prior to paying. You thanked her and paid her. If you weren’t happy, and you felt it rude to tell her when she showed you, why do you think it ok now to ask for your money back? She could have done more, addressed your concerns when she was with you.

Your fault for not saying something before she left.

I know I could kick myself for not saying anything while she was here, just thought it might be ok once I'd run my fingers through it but sadly not ☹️

To be honest I do t think she's even qualified. Looking at some of her photos on fb they don't look good at all.
I wouldn't mind so much but it was for a special shoot plus I'm on maternity pay so paying double was not ideal!

If it was a special shoot why wouldn't you research a bit more?
Sorry, but I think you should have asked for her to fix it there and then. If you feel justified leave bad review on her facebook page with photos.

Because I've never had an issue with how a hairdresser curls my hair before. It's always been very straight forward and always looks pretty much the same. (Apart from this time obviously)
I won't be making the same mistake again
