I'm peed off with the met office - thunder, what thunder?

Twice now we've been predicted big thunder & nothing came. I'm right under the path of the last two severe weather warnings & all we got was light rain for a short while. Yeah I know I'm being unreasonable but I do love a good downpour. I wish there was a way the met office could be more accurate. I don't find weather reporting very accurate these days.

I was up at 3.30am and instead of being able to let rip my bizarre powerful version of Imagine Dragons's Thunder in a weather-related homage, I watched a bit of desultory rain while tutting.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 25/06/2019 10:26

I woke up to heavy rain. It’s now drizzling and damp.

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 25/06/2019 10:26

I hear you

I like a good thunderstorm (was born in the middle of one) but as you say, it just never came did it . I am London . Are you London too?

Last Tuesday on the way back from my DDs funeral it was very dull and chilly in Herne Bay . They did apparently have a storm that night.

I'd love a good storm too OP, been forecast here (N Yorks) a few times recently and none materialised :-(

TheQueef · 25/06/2019 10:28

You need to find Badbadkitten and her weather threads. Much more accurate Grin

Kazzyhoward · 25/06/2019 10:29

The weather reports these days are all about predicting "extreme" weather.

It's becoming very Orwelian with echoes of 1984 and the philosophy of the more you tell people something happened, the more they believe it, whether it actually happened or not.

P1nkHeartLovesCake · 25/06/2019 10:29

Here we had 1 yes 1 huge thunder bang about 4am that frightened the birds as they all started tweeting then so much rain for about 30 minutes. Beautiful sunny day now though

GreyGardens88 · 25/06/2019 10:32

There were a couple of rumbles yesterday afternoon where I am (north yorkshire) but that's it

DamnItsSevenAM · 25/06/2019 10:34

Gosh we had some cracking thunder. Why do people like bring woken up? I got about 4 hours sleep and I feel crap.

pollyhampton · 25/06/2019 10:34

I live on the south coast. We never ever ever get any of the 'extreme' weather predicted by the Met Office. No thunderstorms, no gales, no snow, nothing. It is never right.

CookPassBabtridge · 25/06/2019 10:35

Same here, I am always seeing lightning symbol on my future forecasts (few days in advance) and it never comes! Haven't seen a storm in ages. My 5 year old wants to see one.

DontTouchMyCurls · 25/06/2019 10:55

Sorry for the loss of your DD WhentheRabbitsWentWild Flowers

I've said to anyone who will listen how the weather forecast has disappointed me yet again

WhentheRabbitsWentWild · 25/06/2019 10:56

Thank You @DontTouchMyCurls

happyhillock · 25/06/2019 11:01

I know the met office can only predict the weather, they should stop giving out weather warnings uf there not sure what will happen, where i live thunderstorms and terrential rain was predicted what happened NOTHING

KevinKeegansPerm · 25/06/2019 11:01

Sorry for your loss @WhentheRabbitsWentWild Flowers

I've not heard any thunder where i am, and if it did thunder overnight then i slept through it.
I love a good storm too, the more intense, the better.

Kaykay06 · 25/06/2019 11:04

Should’ve been in Stirling last night then...
Thunder, lightening floods etc
Lots of shops/homes flooded
