Can you still be jet lagged days later?

DD and DS sleeping patterns all over the place he is back at nursery tomorrow. He normally goes to bed at 8 and sleeps through to half 6 7ish. He woke up at half 11 this morning put him to bed at 8pm and he woke up not long ago he said he's not tired.

DD is 9 months and her sleeping is all over the place I'm exhausted. Don't know whether to keep him off tomorrow and ease him back in to his routine.

Form where? Last time I flew back from NZ I was jet lagged for about a week... didn’t help that I was awake for a solid 40 hours... had about a 20 min nap on one of the flights 🙁

They say that it's a day's recover for every hour in the time difference. TBH, it would have been better to have woken him up a bit earlier today and not let him sleep for that long, but it can't be helped now. He'll probably be quite grumpy at nursery tomorrow but I would still bring him. If you're not working then you can always tell the staff that you'll collect him early if he's not coping.

4 - 5 days for me returning from USA. Do it a fair amount and it’s always 4 days minimum and never any fun!

I do OZ- London and back semi regularly. Always takes me a week to get back to normal. Jetlag is crap.

nickymanchester · 23/06/2019 23:22

As others have said, it usually takes me a good 4 days after travelling to/from the USA or Caribbean.

came back from Oz - ok for the first few days then it hit me. Had to go to bed mid-afternoon & slept right through until morning. So yes, it usually takes a few days for your body to catch up. One good sleep though & you should be ok.
