If you had a bald little one, when did their hair grown?

I can't understand it. My DS has hardly any hair at all. And the front of his head has hair not even an inch long. It's like he's bald really.

He has really thick and bushy eyebrows though? I thought people with thin hair didn't have great brows? Hmm

Starting to worry he will have thin hair. Mine is very thick.

This is semi lighthearted by the way, and a very trivial worry! Grin

My daughter was a baldy and when she was a toddler it was very wispy, especially at the front.

Then a couple of years later her hair really grew and now she’s an aunt she has long thick hair.

Teddybear45 · 23/06/2019 12:02

How old is he? It seems like he has a lot of hair it’s just really light / fuzzy.

I had hardly any hair until I was about 18mos. My mum reports trying to clip a bow on to my three little Homer Simpson-esque strands of hair.
Now I have too much of the bloody stuff and my hoover is always complaining because I moult all the time.

He’s a lovely wee boy! Those eyelashes 😍😍.

happyhillock · 23/06/2019 12:06

My 1st DD. was bald until she was 18mths then her hair started to grow

Sugaronjam · 23/06/2019 12:08

My Dd was 2 before she grew any hair.

CalmFizz · 23/06/2019 12:14

Pictures of my first birthday I have a buzz cut. By 2 I had some length of hair, so I’d say 16/18months.

Your son has what Is consider a decent amount of hair.

soberfabulous · 23/06/2019 12:18

my DD was bald as a coot until she was 3. everyone thought she was a boy.

fedup21 · 23/06/2019 12:20

How old is he, OP?

PivotPivotPivottt · 23/06/2019 12:21

How old is he? My daughter has fair hair and was bald for a while. He certainly makes up for it with those eyelashes!

ReganSomerset · 23/06/2019 12:21

I have a cousin who was bald until three but has perfectly normal hair as an adult.

Bluerussian · 23/06/2019 12:29

I was nearly two, my son was two before he started growing hair - then he grew a mop of bushy, curly hair which he still has (will be forty in the autumn).

I think bald babies are lovely.

Emelene · 23/06/2019 12:31

Apparently I was pretty bald when I went to nursery. Confused My DD is 7 months and just about moving past the bald stage!

LuckyAmy1986 · 23/06/2019 12:34

Awww he’s so cute! How old?

MillicentMartha · 23/06/2019 12:35

Those eyelashes! 😍

BringOnTheScience · 23/06/2019 12:38

DC1 - bald until nearly 2 years.
DC2 - bald to a year, then suddenly had a mullet because it grew only at the back.

CormoranStrike · 23/06/2019 12:45

How old is he? Both of mine were bald for a good long time

pizzaorpine · 23/06/2019 12:47

Sorry I thought I included his age Blush

He's 19 months!

Ds1 and DS2 were bald until about 18 months. Ds3 has hair from the off!

MitziK · 23/06/2019 12:47

DD1 - bright red hair, never grew beyond an inch long until she was 3. Took until she was 9 before it could be plaited properly.

FloatingthroughSpace · 23/06/2019 12:48

My ds2 was bald until 2. Looked like I had given him a buzz cut. He has a fine head of thick hair now.

justgivemewine · 23/06/2019 12:49

ds2 has no hair until he was nearly 2.Has lovely thick hair now though

DugHug · 23/06/2019 12:49

Mine is still a baldy at 18m. I don’t think it’s unusual. Your DS’s fine hair is more noticeable because his hair is dark, mine is blonde so it’s not as obvious.

Gorgeous kid. Smile
