Gifts to nursery staff?

Hello,

I'm moving my DD to a different nursery as we are moving house. I want to get something for everyone so my partner suggested just a big box of chocolates for them to all share but she is very attached to one member of staff in particular, won't go in to nursery without being with her, likes to sit with her for breakfast etc. Do I get her something separate or not? She also only really has one friend which she talks about all the time and I wondered if she gives him something to?

Not sure what the norm is when it comes to leaving and what people generally do 🤦🏻‍♀️.

Thanks

i think i would do a costa voucher for the one particular member of staff, and box of chocolate for the others. maybe your dd could make a card for the friend and you could stick a small packet of haribos to the front? x

@sleepismysuperpower1 thank you. They are good suggestions. MIL thinks making a fuss for the friend may upset DD and thinks to treat it like any other normal day.

I think I'm more emotional and dreading the thought of her leaving there. She's been there 6 months and come on so much and with her finally having a friend I feel so guilty for moving her. But wanted to gift them something to say thank you especially to the one member off staff she adores.

i totally understand, but dc are often more adaptable than us and she will settle in to the new area and nursery, most likely sooner than you will! i wouldn't get a big present for the other child, as i said, probably just a homemade card and little pack of sweets x
