Do mental health teams notify social services?

DP is having some very severe mental health problems. As of Wednesday, the mental health nurses are coming out to him on a daily basis. He is (as of Wednesday) staying at his parents while me and DS stay at home.

Do the mental health team alert social services if there’s a child involved? DS is three and I rely on my in-laws for childcare, so will be with his father there.

It might depend how his dad is but try and not be scared just see how it goes you must be so stressed about everything ss are there to support if it is needed .

You could maybe have one of the grandparents look after your dc at your house if his dad is ill.

I had a serious mental health crisis after the birth of my third child (I was hospitalised for 3 months). During this time social services were never notified because my mh team where happy that my partner was doing everything necessary to keep the children safe.

Thank you both of you, it is a very stressful time, made worse by DP saying one minute that he doesn’t want us and the next saying we are his whole world. It is incredibly upsetting.

He tends to present quite well when not in the grips of one of his more angry episodes. Hopefully they won’t trigger anything!!

As long as your son is safe which im sure he is then i am sure it will be fine.My friend also had CPN homecare and nothing was flagged to social work.
