I have been waiting, for ages, for a mh appointment.
It happened today, I thought she was going to confirm depression and anxiety.
She thinks I have BPD , had me set up for 13 weeks of DBT , and a medication review.
I sort of feel on shock, I didn't see this coming.
I'm not sure why I posted, I just feel a bit overwhelmed and lost

When I got my bpd diagnosis it was a shock and my emotions were all over the place. Give yourself time to get your head around it, and loof after yourself. I know it's easier said than done.

Thank you @eyeswideshit
I feel stupid I didn't see this coming

Is there a support group you could make contact with - my sister found it invauable with bipolar - still does even though mostly well. Be gentle with yourself!

Oh poor you, and poor cat :(

Alicewond · 21/06/2019 03:06

Is there a 24 hour vet surgery?

NorthEndGal · 21/06/2019 03:14

There is, but I'm not sure there is more they can do before the morning.
She was not well last week, I took her in same day, and they gave me an anti-inflammatory for her bladder, and some calming wipes stuff. To be clear, there had been no sign of blood then, she had urinalysis and there was no infection. They said it was likely stress as we are moving house next week.

We used it for a few days and she was much better, and so we had stopped, as she hated taking it.
I gave her a dose tonight, and will take her in as soon as they open (7am).
I just know she'd be even more stressed and upset not being near me.
She is my shadow

She is sleepy quietly near me now, if she seems distressed or it escalate at all I will go straight in before morning

I was in shock for quite a while after my MH diagnosis. I think any unexpected diagnosis of a lifelong illness is quite a thing to absorb.
Try to look on the positive side that you've immediately been offered treatment.
Sorry about your cat. These things never happen singly, do they?!
Once you have kitty sorted out you can hopefully take a bit of time to rest and process and find some support. Good luck. Bpd really can be managed well.

NorthEndGal · 21/06/2019 09:24

I am happy about the quick treatment, it was hard to wait for so long for help, everyone I'd go see would say you need help, but more than I can provide, so I'd get moved from person to person.

Kitty seems much happier this morning (it's not quite 5:30am) and I will be having her to the vets in a few hours for further help
