How to get poster paint stain out of clothes?

I got splodged with red poster paint (I work in a school!) on a pair of light brown trousers a couple of days ago. Usually, I just bung paint splodged things in the wash and they come out clean but this paint has left a red stain. Is there any way to get the stain out or have I set it forever?!

You might have set the stain if you washed it in hot water. You could try using Shout and re-washing in bio at a cool temperature.

The best way to treat a poster paint stain is to wash in cold water with bar soap. You can use Vanish but any type of bar soap will do. I say this as an Early Years teacher of 30 years who frequently went home covered in splats and hand prints!

Ah bugger! Washed on 30 so they may be doomed...
Thanks for the tip for the future!
