Where can I buy a basic, reasonably priced raincoat for a 14 year old boy? M&S and Next seem to have very little online.
Any other suggestions?

Mountain Warehouse or Trespass are my go-to stores for this.

Perhaps H&M or Zara.
TKMaxx might have some interesting ones as well.

And you expect him to wear one?

What 14 year old boy would wear one? Seriously, unless he's doing DoE or similar he will 'lose' it at the very first opportunity.

Mountain warehouse, make sure to ask for the DofE reduction - surely the only reason 14 year olds would need a raincoat for.

I've just bought one new on ebay age 13. Wanted a decent waterproof not 'water resistant' as we walk and camp a lot.
3000HH £40 RRP, I paid £18 free delivery.

TremblingFanjo · 18/06/2019 19:09

LegoLady do you have a link for that?

Just bought this Adidas one for my DS for £20. He needs a packable one for a school exchange trip and it's actually better quality than I'd expected and looks as if it will be properly waterproof. And more importantly, he likes it!
