I know Tory part members get to vote between the last two party leader contenders. But do you have to have been in the party for x weeks before you can vote?

Thinking of joining to try and keep Boris out.

I would imagine you've got to be a member for at least 3 months... Otherwise everyone would do this

Stripyhoglets · 17/06/2019 22:15

No. You have to have been a member for a fixed amount of time. To prevent entryism like this. Which is what labour should have done then there might actually be a labour leader who'll be able to win an election.

Thought so, bugger!

It’s 3 months to be eligible to vote. I’m only days away from being eligible having joined on 26 March for this very reason...

Jaxhog · 17/06/2019 22:26

You definitely have to be a member for 3 months.

AnthonyCrowley · 17/06/2019 22:34

Oh why didn't I think about this a few months ago! So frustrating.
