How much weight would I need to use to not need a seat belt extension on a plane?

Size 24, 21st...what size roughly would I need to be to not need one do you think?

I’m a 20/22 and was fine on EasyJet last summer. Short on leg room, but the seats and belts were ok.

It depends entirely on how many times the seat belt has been repaired.

I’m a size 24 as well. On our Jet2 flights earlier this year I was fine on the way out, but on the way back I needed an extension. The woman at the window also needed one (and was upset to need one) and she was no more than an 18 because they’d been damaged and shortened in repair.

Also depends where you carry, and lose, your weight.

Thanks all, unfortunately I carry it all on my stomach and although I do lose it on my stomach first, I have the “fat apron” so it’s quite low iygwim

Damn!

Can I take my own seatbelt extender or request one is already on my seat before boarding?

I think you can buy your own. I’m aiming not to need one before I fly in 50 days.

Here’s one: www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Adjustable-Airplane-Seat-Belt-Plane-Aircraft-Seat-Extenders-Professional-25-inch/253704078353?hash=item3b11f10411:g:wc8AAOSwBkpbLKMx

Thank you!

Good luck!

I don’t think you’re allowed to take your own anymore
