M3 (motorway) cafe stop off near Basingstoke/Frimley

Basically I'm after an alternative to Fleet Services for a meeting place just off the M3 where we can sit and chat for a couple of hours.

A cafe where we'll definitely get a table without waiting too long, with reasonably priced coffee/food etc.

It doesn't have to be spectacularly lovely, but somewhere not too noisy/busy.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

The Courtyard Cafe in Hartley Witney is probably your best bet. It's half way between Jcts 4a and 5. Best way is come off a Jct 4a and take the A327 and A30. About 15 minutes from the motorway.

Another vote for courtyard cafe!

Hartley Witney is really pretty :)

Not far from uncle 4a there's a Starbucks next to a Miller & Carter. Soulless but does the trick

Newlyn's Farm just off the Hook junction has a nice cafe and farm shop.

Think Newlyns just won an award actually? Have to keep your eye open as the turning is quite easy to miss (I always end up having to go round the roundabout again)

They have an amazing cheese shop Smile

Odiham (just off J5) has a few places on the high street, notably Bel and the Dragon. Or as others have mentioned Hartley Wintney is fairly well stocked.

If you want to guarantee a table you might need to book somewhere, which isn't always possible with cafes. The Mill House at North Warnborough is really nice and only 5mins from the Hook junction.

Thank you. Sorry to be slow to respond. I thought I'd missed the evening crowd yesterday so was just coming back to bump and lo and behold I've been answered by some night owls Smile

I'll look into these options now.

Thanks again. It's really useful to have some ideas when I'm not familiar with the area.

Is Newlyns the kind of place where we could sit for a couple of hours without feeling that we ought to give up the table if we've finished eating or if we're just having coffees?

It's a while since I've been in Newlyns cafe TBH, I go to the farm shop fairly often. I would imagine it very much depends on the time and day, Monday morning it might be fine but Friday lunchtime probably not.
