Weekend plans thread anyone?

In our house: I’m taking DD to her swimming lesson shortly, then DH and I are constructing her new desk while hopefully DD and DS play outside. But I suspect in reality we will be “helped”.

I will then be using the new desk to try and get DD to throw stuff away under the guise of “rearranging”!

DH will probably make a run to the tip with some cardboard for recycling and we are both hoping for enough sunshine to sit outside with a glass of wine later. Also I’m hoping DH has something imaginative in mind for dinner later, because he did the shopping yesterday and I cannot really see how what he bought can be assembled into a meal. Confused but he’s much better at cooking than me Grin

What’s everyone else up to?

I'm taking my son to a university open day and will then call in on a friend who has broken up with her partner and then pop to the shops to get food to cook a family dinner. (It might end up being a takeaway given I might run out of time). The dinner will be me, DS, DD and her boyfriend - DD and BF will then be off to a party. I will watch TV.

EsmeeMerlin · 15/06/2019 08:58

Going to my sister’s today. It’s my nephew’s birthday party and she has hired a bouncy castle so will be there most of the day watching all the children in the family play.

I've just put a load of washing on and am about to start an online shopping order. Need to make contact with DD who as of recently is not a fan of getting up in the mornings to remind her what time I'll be collecting her from her Dad's. Need to get a newspaper and some frozen sausage rolls and pop them home, pick DD up and go to a local community event, have a quick look around then leave her there with DP and my DDad, cook aforementioned sausgae rolls, collect DMum and go to church event we're helping at and at which DD and Ddad will join us. Return DD to her Dad's and relax!

I can sympathise with the desire for 'rearranging'. DD is desparate to have her room redecorated but I've told her that in emptying it she needs to sort out anything that she no longer wants/needs.

I have some work bits and pieces that I should get out of the way but I'm still recovering from a night out on thursday and concentration levels are low!

freshasthebrightbluesky · 15/06/2019 10:07

Nothing at all.

Dh is reluctantly doing the garden in between rain storms. I'm still in my PJs and will be until Monday morning. We have no plans for fathers' day because we have no money and the weather is dire.

happymummy12345 · 15/06/2019 10:14

We will be taking ds to get his hair trimmed (needed doing sooner but he hasn't been well, he's still not but it needs doing so). Then we need to get a bit of shopping (I also need to get cards and something for dh for Father's Day, can't believe I've left it so late).
After that dh is in work at 3, won't be home until half 11 or so. Normal night for ds and I, dinner, bath and bed for ds, then I'll do myself something, and sit down and relax and watch the telly (I'm not mean doing something to eat for myself but dh and I agreed that when he's on the afternoon shift he would eat at work, otherwise we don't eat until midnight or later).

lucysmam · 15/06/2019 10:16

Not a clue! The girls are off to Nanna's for a sleepover shortly & I need to go to Lidl for some shopping for my Guides.

Other than that, and school shirt ironing, I have no idea!

Prokupatuscrakedatus · 15/06/2019 10:22

It's DD school leaving party this evening (pupils, parents, teachers, friends). Buffet food has to be provided, so I'll be preparing sth kisir-like.
There's a weather warning on and we'll need to secure the tomatos and chillis.
Apart from that I'll just lounge about, no scanning and no housework today.

soulrunner · 15/06/2019 10:26

Dd and I did a beach CrossFit event this morning and then had a swim in the sea. Picked up DH who’d been outrigging and went to the cricket club to collect ds, had lunch and another swim. Dc variously played and fought with their friends. Home. Bit of homework. I’m now at a swim gala with dd. Dh and I are going to a friend’s for dinner later. Suspect it might be a big one so I’m mainlining caffeine.

CherryPavlova · 15/06/2019 10:32

Quiet weekend here.
Lazy get up.
Practice making icing flowers for my daughters wedding cake.
Make scones for friends coming for tea.
Walk dog on beach.
Go and visit my mother
Collect youngest daughter from station.

Tomorrow will be church, coffee with friends, sort out work for next week, a bit of garden tidying. Walk the dog again and maybe swim if we check tide times.

Singlenotsingle · 15/06/2019 10:35

You've had lunch already, soulrunner? Shock We haven't had breakfast yet! I'm relaxing today after attending dgs' sports day yesterday. Wore'd me out!

AudTheDeepMinded · 15/06/2019 10:35

DH is taking kids out (for the love of God hurry up). I'm working, editing a paper. In between that I will bake youngest a birthday cake for tomorrow and stick a load of washing on. Rock and roll.

SavageBeauty73 · 15/06/2019 10:37

I'm still in bed with DD and puppy watching crap telly. Going to take pup for walk in between rain showers ☔️

I'll cook a nice meal tonight and watch a film with my teenagers. It's been a stressful week (divorce) and I need a low key weekend.

Youngandfree · 15/06/2019 10:38

Going to a spa hotel tonight with some friends 🙌😊💕

SavageBeauty73 · 15/06/2019 10:39

@Singlenotsingle I think Soulrunner is not on UK time

Squirrel26 · 15/06/2019 10:40

Having my hair cut this afternoon, then I need to go to the supermarket. Before that, I really need to do some housework.

At the moment though, I’m drinking coffee on the sofa with the dog on my lap.

RosieposiePuddingandPi · 15/06/2019 10:43

I've had a lovely lie in this morning courtesy of DH so have just had some breakfast and toddler cuddles on the sofa (and put a load of laundry on).

We're off to do an Aldi shop in a bit and take DS to the library to pick some new books and then back home to do some work on the garden if the rain holds off and some decluttering around the house.

We'll probably do a couple of runs to the tip and maybe watch a film together this afternoon.

EntirelyAnonymised · 15/06/2019 10:43

I assume soulrunner isn’t in the same time zone as the UK, single.

I’m taking DD to a university open day, that’ll take up most of the day due to travel time. Then pub with DH in the evening, probably.

Heymummee · 15/06/2019 10:47

Just bathing DS2, DS1 is in his pit playing Fortnite. DP is in bed and I’m leaving him there otherwise I’ll explode with anger. Yet another lie in.
Later I need to go food shopping, DS1 wants to paint a canvas for father’s Day, I’ve done some washing, probably take the kids to the park later on to get some fresh air whilst it’s not raining (fingers crossed it stays that way)
All in all a fairly boring Saturday!

TheLightSideOfTheMoon · 15/06/2019 10:47

Just burnt DS's uniform, books and school bag in the fire pit.

If it doesn't rain later I'm going to clear up the garden.

8FencingWire · 15/06/2019 10:48

Retrieved DD from a sleepover, she went ‘raving’ last night, she loved it. That’s from a child who tells us to ‘turn that racket down’.

Dinner is home made pizza, we’ve got friends coming round. The kids will have popcorn and a movie afterwards.

I want to go into town to have a coffee and watch people this afternoon.

Chipsahoy · 15/06/2019 11:14

Currently bf dc3 so he naps. We've had a full English and all had showers and are dressed. Big DC are busy playing and Dh is making us coffee.
No real plans today, bits of house stuff to do, tidying and sorting. Maybe a bike ride later if it stays dry or a movie afternoon of it rains. Curry for dinner later and a glass of wine once DC are in bed.
Happy weekend all.

Crunchymum · 15/06/2019 11:27

DP is taking the older two to a massive bookshop for a nosy and they can pick a new book each. Baby and I will get some chores down....

I'm off out for dinner with a friend later. We are going early as you have to queue!!! Yep that's what all the cool kids do now.

Tomorrow is swimming lesson, shopping, homework, chilling and Daddy can have a steak for dinner.
