If I want a balcony what do I need to do?

Just moved into a new build, would like to put a Juliet balcony or little walk out one on the side with a view. It’s not overlooking anyone just a wood.

What do I need to do first? Get an architect out and then try applying for planning permission? Or planning first with a rough sketch from me? Or a structural engineer? Or something else? It’s currently a wall with no windows.

Get a builder in to give you a quote to see if it's even feasible. \i'd also phone up the council planning dept. and ask if you would need planning permission. You would almost certainly need building warrant.
If there is no opening at all there I would think the problem first will be how would the wall above the opening be supported. The wall structurally won't have been built to take an opening and will need a fairly strong lintel for a start.
