My twins are 2.5, both have ASD (and other things). They are extremely different - one loves building, sorting, etc and the other basically refused to touch any toys for nearly a year.
And yet I’ve caught lightning with this toy:
Fat Brain FA110-1 Spin Again Baby Toy www.<a class="break-all" href="https://amazon.co.uk/dp/B016F5QJQW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_zSqaDbEXNDAAJ?tag=mumsnet&ascsubtag=mnforum--chat-3610643-Best-toys-for-autistic-toddlers" rel="nofollow" target="_blank">amazon.co.uk/dp/B016F5QJQW/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_zSqaDbEXNDAAJ
They both absolutely love it and quickly learned how to play with it without assistance. At times they’ve even played with it together. I showed it to their portage workers and they’ve ordered some.
The reviews are mostly from parents of ASD children saying they love it. I think it’s the movement, the ability to sort by size, colour etc.
My boys also love those light up game show type buzzers and apparently they too are very popular with kids with ASD
I know they’re all different, as are my two, I’m just wondering if there are other things like this that are generally appealing to autistic toddlers.
Any suggestions gratefully received - we’ve tried most things I think, but then I stumbled across this and it’s the best thing we’ve bought so far.
