I think I told them at about 8 weeks and the appointment wasn't until a couple of weeks later. I didn't want an early booking appointment due to a miscarriage previously.

neversleepagain · 11/06/2019 21:53

Booked in at 6 weeks and booking in appointment at 8 weeks.

CherryPavlova · 11/06/2019 21:56

About 15 weeks.

I saw the GP at 4+2 (clearly way over too excited) - he referred me to the MW and my booking in appt was at 8+1

I was 3+5 when I handed in the midwife request form, super keen but she only works Wednesdays and I was excited! Booking appt at 8 weeks

I phoned the doctor as soon as I found out, because I didn't know what you were supposed to do. Made a midwife appointment for 8 weeks based on dates of digital test. My dates were guesswork because I got pregnant before my periods came back after the implant.

pickleface · 11/06/2019 22:13

I informed the gp around 8 weeks but where I live, booking in was at 16 weeks as standard. Sounds late compared to everyone else's.

NotMyRealName123 · 11/06/2019 22:15

@ASqueakingInTheShrubbery we're the same! No idea of dates due non cycle established post implant 🤷‍♂️ how do you actually work it out??

Lovelight · 11/06/2019 22:23

We knew 7dp5dt (ivf pregnancy) via a blood test. Booked in at GP surgery for repeat bloods (privately) to confirm rising hCG levels the following week so at 15dp5dt and officially 5 weeks pregnant handed in the referral form at GP surgery and left voice message for midwife on her contact number. Then we were away from 5+4 until 10+5 so my booking appointment was done at 10+6 and my dating scan was done at 12+5.

AuntMarch · 11/06/2019 22:51

They'll date you with a scan

I went to docs at about six weeks mostly to find out how it all works! Booking appointment was at 10 weeks, and they booked my 12 week scan.

TapasForTwo · 11/06/2019 22:53

Surely you would need to see a midwife so that you can get a 12 week scan booked?

DappledThings · 11/06/2019 23:09

Never told GP. Self-referred to midwives via online form on hospital website.

Got sent booking appt and first scan appt in post. Appt letters arrived on same day for appts about 3 weeks apart.

CherryPavlova · 11/06/2019 23:28

Lovelight it was over 20 years ago. Nobody went that early as tests didn’t show pregnancy until about eight weeks minimum. Few went before 12 weeks. Why would I be bothered? I was pretty certain of my dates, didn’t need first bloods until sixteen weeks and wasn’t about to take anything for vomiting continually as it was still too close to thalidomide generation for any GP to prescribe anything in early pregnancy.

CherryPavlova · 11/06/2019 23:29

I had a scan at 18 weeks only.

MyDcAreMarvel · 11/06/2019 23:36

8 weeks, didn’t see the point any sooner.

jarofheart · 11/06/2019 23:43

I saw my doctor the day after the positive test. After my dating scan it would have made me 4 weeks. Going by LMP it made me 5+1 but I know when I fell pregnant and I was actually 3+5. Had my first midwife appointment 4 weeks later.

Like PP I clearly got way too excited.

Hmmmbop · 11/06/2019 23:47

Never told the GP, just self referral to midwife.

If you want screening tests done you need to get booked in as they may not be able to give you a scan at the right time otherwise (the screening scan is time sensitive).

MyDcAreMarvel · 11/06/2019 23:48

TO clarify I didn’t tell my GP at all
I self referred to midwife at 8 weeks🕸

justanswerthephone · 11/06/2019 23:49

Self referral here as well.

Midwife usually sees you from 8 weeks onwards.

NotSoThinLizzy · 12/06/2019 00:35

My 1st I told them at 12 weeks (different circumstances) 2nd I was 4 weeks 3rd I was 3/4 weeks self referred to midwives i was keen 😂

student26 · 12/06/2019 00:46

Told them when I was very early, less than five weeks as there was a bug going round so wanted to make sure everything was ok. First appointment was 7+4. My scan date I will be 11+5 and my booking appointment I will be 10+2.
