Civil service cost of living increase 2019-20

New to CS, can anyone tell me if they have had their pay review for 2019-20? My DH is MOD and I know his will be due any week now and will be paid retrospectively back to April in September, assuming there is a rise of course. Is the CS similarly delayed for 2019-20 or has it already been applied? I can only find an announcement from June 2018.

Do you have access to IT yet? Any announcements should be on the intranet, or ask HR.

Each department had its own individual pay negotiations so you need to check for own department. Mine is predicted a 1% raise this year.

Every department is different. We only got our last pay award in January 2019 pay because of a dispute - it had been announced in September 2018.

No way it will be above 2% in the current climate unless there are exceptional unions fighting!

Thank you, it's an arms length body. I haven't started yet, I was just curious if the salary was still set to go up 1% this financial year like my husband's is or if the salary I've been offered has that included. Does the civil service run April-March as their financial year?

If it's done mid year are you retrospectively paid it?

Depends on your department- mine runs from July

To be honest after all these years I'm not overly concerned with it all. CS you will always be paid not usually well and treated fairly reasonably.

TwattingDog · 11/06/2019 19:24

Our business year runs April to March but the pay negotiations run October to September.

EnolaAlone · 11/06/2019 19:38

My department's pay award is meant to be in June, but we had an intranet message a couple of weeks ago saying negotiations have only just started. Happens every year.

Thank you, I guess I will have to wait and see! I didn't realise it was all so different, I assumed the financial year would be the same at least!
