Has anyone been to a Butlins music weekend?

I'm tempted to go as there a few bands I used to like but my fear is it will be like one big drunken stag do.

I assume it's over 18s? I have older teens who have been subjected to my music who may be tempted too.

Has anyone tried one of the 'big weekends ' ?

I've been to Shiiine weekend a few times. It is over 18s but was mainly 40-somethings (like me). I didn't find it stag-party-ish, but I still go to lots of gigs and festivals, so maybe wouldn't notice so much.

i agree with msrinky id say most people were in their 40's or above. ive been several times. there are lots of stag partys there but everyone is pretty well behaved. id say go for it!!

I went to Hard rock hell in mine head a few years back, it was a fantastic event. Great atmosphere, lots of people who like the same music so very festival feeling but it's real beds in chalets

I have friends from the late 70s/early 80s who went to the original Caister weekends and they still go to these sort of Caister reunion weekends. Not sure whether they are actually in Caister or not but they seem to sleep in caravans. From their photos it appears a great time is had by all and they get up to all kinds of high jinks.

I have been to Bognor , it was good fun

MammaMia19 · 12/06/2019 16:25

Been to a 90s weekend on a hen do at Bognor. Try and get a nicer chalet or hotel as its can be a bit rowdy. It’s for over 18s only. It was a fun weekend. definitely a drinking weekend and there was lots of stags and hens but the crowd are a bit younger at the 90s ones

VenusClapTrap · 12/06/2019 17:02

I was invited to an eighties one at Bognor but turned it down as I didn’t fancy it. Friends who went said it was fun but the accommodation was dirty and really unpleasant.
